Actually you can buy some 3.5mm to Coaxial for Digital outout(picture) , and maybe just 3.5 to 2RC ...

Hi elmPJ

Thanks for your answer. On the Aurora, do I use the headphone or AV output?

And can how can I hook it up to the optical (TOSLINK) input of my amp?

Hello Adibou , I guess we can use 3.5 mm to optical cable because Audio output support  S/PDIF (digital signal) but this is just my opinion,no one confirm that yet , You can try and tell us hahaha

I do not believe the port is optical.

its 3.5mm to RCA Coaxial you need, I believe like this one.

My understanding is your limited to 5.1 compressed surround.

I too wish xgimi could do ARC via a firmware update to one of the ports, unless its not possible due to hardware??

So my understanding is that there is not optical output on the XGIMI, can someone confirm that?

If so ARC support would definitely be a super cool feature!

ARC belongs to hardware part, so it's impossible for just updating the firmware and add ARC.
Only H1 has this this function.

If ...

NOPE. We don't have optical output at all.
Why don't you just use Aurora to play what you need, since it can project up to 300''?

Maybe because a big screen is only half of a whole home cinema experience

I read specs for this projector that stated the AV port was a 3.5mm optical audio out port. I have been hearing conflicting information either way. It would not make sense to make a movie projector that does not output a surround sound track. Otherwise it is more of a business projector then an entertainment projector. We need someone with a cable to try it out and see if the AV port is optical. I would, but do not have the cable or the adapter to fit on a regular toslink cable. It would be nice if we had a way to get true surround sound out of our projector. A 3.5mm RCA cable will not provide separate channels for 5.1, 7.1, 7.2, or any other setups. It is very possible that the AV port on the back of the Z4 Aurora is a 3.5mm optical out port. Unfortunately, there is conflicting information from Xgimi on whether or not this is true.

Either way.....I still love my Z4 Aurora.

Here is conflicting information. I would like to hear a definite answer from technical support: how I can get 5.1 audio OUT of the projector Z4 Aurora? It is possible to implement?

1. buy a Audio 3.5mm Stereo (4 Pole) to RCA Digital Coaxial Audio Connection Cable, looks like this:

2. Turn on your Aurora, go to <System Set> -> <General> -> <Sound output> -> choose <coaxial>
3. make sure you have an amplifier and connect your amplifer and Aurora with this cable
